Holtzman Amplification is the dedicated work of Jacob Holtzman. A graduate of audio production and music recording from Ball State University, Jacob has worked to create a reputation of quality work and dedication to his craft. ROLES & EXPERIENCES

MARKEY'S RENTAL & STAGING

2022-Present

Lead Event Technician for Markey's. Duties include but are not limited to: A1/A2 responsibilities, lighting, video, rigging, setting, striking, etc.

CLEAR RECEPTION WITH DAVID LETTERMAN

2021-2023

Post sound supervisor, field sound editor, and lead audio engineer for documentary project at Ball State featuring David Letterman.

CUSTOM AMPLIFIER BUILDING

2020-Present

At the forefront of Holtzman Amplification, building and customizing guitar amplifiers either as clones from scratch or by retrofitting vacuum tube radios into guitar amps.

IPR/THE SCENE ENGINEER

2020-2022

The Scene is a weekly public radio show produced in Indiana that features music in performance from around the great Hoosier state. Each week, we bring listeners an hour of live music performed in local venues catered by a team of human beings who simply love music.

Our goal is to promote the Indiana music scene by focusing on the music itself. We want to tell the story of the music happening in our own backyards, to be a spark of conversation between fellow music-lovers, and to give listeners a bit of context about new and upcoming artists, sometimes through interviews with the musicians themselves.

LEAD TECH FOR UNIVERSITY SINGERS

2020-2021

Lead Tech for Ball State's premier show choir, responsibilities include: management, handling setup, miking, monitors, and front of house sound.

RESEARCHER: NETFLIX

2020

Worked with Ball State's Music Media Production Program and Professor Christoph Thompson to research use of binauralizers for Netflix.

MEMBER: AUDIO ENGINEERING SOCIETY, BALL STATE CHAPTER

2018-2022

Current President of the Ball State AES Chapter, focus on overseeing and hosting events for students to learn and practice a variety of audio skills and techniques while also managing the chapter overall.

JUNIOR PRODUCER'S CLUB

2021

Teacher for the Junior Producer's Club, an immersive class taught in conjunction with Muncie Central High School allowing students to get beginner experience in audio through demonstrations, lectures, and activities.

BALL STATE STUDIO BAND GUITARIST

2020

Studio Band is focused on bringing students' songs to life by playing/recording originals and covers. Work is group driven and created in Ball State's Music Production Studios.

Hosted by Welcome to 1979, the Recording Summit is an engineering-focused event bringing industry leaders together for a variety of panels and workshops.

ATTENDEE: CHICAGO SCHOOL OF GUITAR MAKING AMP WORKSHOP

3 day workshop under the guidance of Ian Schneller focused on making and taking home a handwired amp based off of the Fender Tweed run.
